When talking about performers who marked the golden era of folk music of the former Yugoslavia with their voice, authentic interpretation and charisma, the name of Šerif Konjević occupies a special, elite place.

Born in Sanica near Ključ, Konjević has demonstrated a vocal range, precision and strength rarely found on the regional stage since his first musical steps in the late 1970s.

He traced his musical path through collaborations with the greats and leading authors of the time, including Nazif Gljiva, Novica Urošević and Šaban Šaulić. His signature thriller, technically perfect modulation and specific color of his voice capable of conveying the deepest sadness and sevdah, quickly lifted him to the very top of the music scene.

Timeless hits like „Bela venčanica“, „Pusti me već jednom da živim“, „Zbog tebe sam vino pio“, „Nema zlata, nema srebra“, „Gdje je sad“, „Kasno će biti kasnije“ i „Koliko plavo nebo je“ have long since become part of the musical anthology, without which no serious folk repertoire can be imagined even today.

During more than four decades of existence on the stage, Konjević built a career that never depended on passing musical trends. His performances throughout the diaspora — from Western Europe, through the United States and Canada, to Australia — have filled halls for decades. Audiences of all generations recognize a performer who also sings live with the same studio precision and power. Today, with unchanged vocal authority and dignity, Šerif Konjević remains a synonym for original emotion, craftsmanship and professionalism of the highest level — a lasting greatness of the Balkan musical heritage.

On the Australian tour, Sherif will have a special guest, Mirnesa Dedić, a prominent singer from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
